Before you pulled us from the dust,
Before there was dust,
You spoke into the primordial stew,
And drew the waters back
To craft dry land.

Father in Heaven,
Thank you for our city.
We love our city.
You love our city.

You are the one who raises up leaders.
All authority comes from You. (Romans 13:1)
Today, we pray for our mayor.

God who walks beside us
Guide me as I lead myself, my work, and my neighbors.

Teach me wisdom—
Wisdom rooted in reverence,
Wisdom beyond my experience,
Wisdom to discern what matters most.

Father and Creator of the Cosmos,
Who was before all that is,
And holds all that is to come.

Father in Heaven,

All that we have
We have received from You.
We bring nothing into this world
And we take nothing out of it.

Father in Heaven and King of Kings,
We seek Your Wisdom,
Your Will, and Your Way.

Holy Spirit,
May I live in wonder
Awe beyond words,
For Your Holy Presence and Power.

May we honor our ancestor,
And the life and legacy of Jesus,
As we live faithfully in our time and place,
Filled with Your love and grace.

May we be good stewards with our home,
And always be grateful for the place You have provided.
May the ways we want to improve our home,
Create new opportunities for hospitality, connection, and invitation.

May I follow the Way of Jesus In living simply.
May simplicity bring clarity,
And the capacity to be present
To people, my practice, and this place…

Almighty God,
You are over all nations and all leaders,
We pray for the civic leaders of our communities,
our city, and our country.

Be our Counselor as we listen.
Be our Wisdom as we speak.
Be our Breath as we trust it is your sacred presence
In every breath we breathe.
