Place
Places to excavate and explore the overlap of spirituality and geography.
Bike Shop
Mile Hi Cycles is owned and operated by a father who has a passion for cycling and fixing broken things. Chris Fanckboner has worked in the bike industry since 1993. He first worked at a southwest Denver bike shop while in high school. Chris would race downhill mountain bikes and became a professional bike mechanic to stay connected to his love of the cycling culture and industry. Mile Hi Cycles opened in the Washington Virginia Vale neighborhood in 2023. The desire was to open a neighborhood bike shop in close proximity to the Cherry Creek Trail.
Football Field
A football field is a sacred place. It is where strength and stamina are required, and regardless of the outcome, a deep respect is forged between those who have battled one another on the field.
Classroom
The classroom is a sacred place. More than just a place where students learn, it is where children form core memories that will stick with them throughout their lives. The classroom is place of encouragement as well as challenge, both a cradle and crucible for the important, weighty work of “growing up.”
Used Bookstore
There are over 20,000 titles on the shelves of The Hermitage. Colle describes the unique value of the bookstore as, “A place for people interact with 20,000 different minds and perspectives from different places and times.” It is not only the books that makeup the used bookstore, but the names and stories of those who previously owned the books are often shared.
