Working as a mental health therapist for decades, Jodi Top has used art therapeutically for clients and for her own wellbeing. Two years ago she began personally exploring watercolor and fell in love. Art has always been personal, a way to look away from the hard things at work. But watercolor was different, it was a complete surrender to semi abstract ideas and following paint and color rather than controlling it. This year Jodi launched Sweet Sumac Studios as a way to share the wonder. Jodi and her sweet kitty Lacey enjoy a cozy condo with a grand view of the foothills and watercolor sunsets in Golden.
